Overview
Berlin was chosen in 1912 and opened the Deutsches Stadion in 1913 to prepare. War broke out in August 1914 and the sixth Olympiad was never staged, though the IOC kept the numbering, making Antwerp 1920 the Games of the seventh Olympiad. Berlin eventually hosted in 1936.
