Womens World Games 1934
London, England. The fourth and last of the Milliat womens festivals
Overview
Renamed the Womens World Games after the IOC objected to the word Olympic, the 1934 edition at the White City drew athletes from 19 nations across athletics, fencing and basketball. It was the last of the series, as war approached and the Olympic program for women kept growing until the festival had served its purpose. Alice Milliat lived to see her creation effectively absorbed into the Games she had challenged.
