St Moritz 1928 Winter Olympics
St Moritz, Switzerland. Thaw wrecked the schedule as Sonja Henie won at 15
Overview
Warm alpine weather disrupted everything: the 10,000 meter speed skating was abandoned mid competition and the 50 kilometer cross country ran in 25 degree heat. Norwegian Sonja Henie, just 15, won figure skating gold and became an international celebrity. Skeleton made its Olympic debut on the Cresta Run.
